To enable the optional data backup feature, the App uses Google Sign-In for authentication. This allows the App to verify your identity securely without us ever seeing or storing your Google password.
**3. Google Drive API (Backup and Restore)**
When you choose to manually back up your data, the App requests permission to access a specific, hidden folder within your personal Google Drive (`appDataFolder`).
- **What we access:** We only access the specific configuration file (`habits.hive`) created by our App. We CANNOT access, read, or modify any other files or personal data in your Google Drive.
- **Why we access it:** This permission is strictly used to save your habit backups and restore them when you request it, ensuring you don't lose your progress if you change devices.
- **Data Transfer:** Data transferred between the App and Google Drive is encrypted in transit and securely stored within your own Google Drive account. We do not have access to this backup file.
## Third-Party Services
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third-party companies.
The App is 100% free to use and contains no in-app advertisements, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics SDKs that profile users.
## Data Retention and Deletion
Your habit data is retained on your device for as long as you keep the App installed.
- **Device Deletion:** You can delete all your local data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing its app data from your device settings.
- **Google Drive Deletion:** You can delete your cloud backup by signing into your Google Account, going to Google Drive settings -> "Manage Apps", finding "FR Simple Daily Habit", and selecting "Delete hidden app data".

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
